In eyeglasses or an eyeglass frame the hinges are configured with a bracket which encloses a projection at the front part of the eyeglasses, so that the shafts of the eyeglasses can turn about a pin. This is configured with a cylindrical part 1 which passes through the hole 11 in the projection 10, a conical part 2, which has at the narrowest place approximately the same diameter as the cylindrical part, and a pin 4 whose diameter is less than the diameter of the conical part at its broadest place, so that a shoulder surface 3 is produced, and the pin is locked firmly in the bracket 7 with the conical part 2 forced into the hole 5, so that material 8 from the bracket is pressed over the shoulder surface 3 with the pin 4. <IMAGE>
