The invention comprises pigments of the general formula wherein X is Cl, Br, F or a C 1 -C 4 alkoxy group, and Y is Cl or Br. They are prepared by diazotization and coupling. Coupling may take place in presence of methanol and an ethylene oxide-stearyl alcohol addition product (mole ratio 20: 1). In Example 6, the pigment prepared from 1-amino-2-ethoxy-4-nitrobenzene and 2,5-dimethoxy-4-chloro-acetoacetanilide is admixed with linseed stand oils of 300 and 20 poise, Octa Soligen Cobalt and Octa Soligen Lead to form a printing lacquer.</p> |
