摘要 A collimator for an Anger-type scintillation camera is disclosed in which a plurality of spaced pins of radiation transmitting material located within an internal cavity of a collimator housing serve as radiation transmitting channels and mercury filling the spaces between the pins serves as the radiation opaque septa. A channel containing mercury formed between the outermost pins and the side of the cavity serves as a mask to define the field of view of the camera crystal. A thermal expansion recess above the masking channel accommodates volume changes in the mercury due to changes in temperature. A method is disclosed for making the collimator housing out of molded plastic. Pins formed integrally with a base member and pins formed integrally with a cover plate are mated together to give high collimator aperture density. Filling ports are used to introduce mercury at elevated temperature into the closed structure.
