<p>LE9 80-033 ASPIRATOR FOR AN INK JET PRINTER Disclosed is the design for an aspirator (10) of a continuous stream ink jet printer. With reference to Fig. 1, the aspirator includes a tunnel configuration (20) wherein the tunnel cross-sectional area diverges from the inlet (23) to the outlet (22), the axial area gradient being inversely proportional to the intended velocity of air through the tunnel (20) so that the cross-sectional area of the outlet (22) is greater than the cross-sectional area of the inlet (23). In this manner, air movement through the tunnel (20) is substantially constant.</p> |
