The turbine (10) of the turbocompressor comprises an exhaust gas distributor (12) whose ring of fixed vanes directs the gas onto the blades (16) of the rotor (18) of the turbine. Orifices (38) make it possible selectively to blow a jet of pressurised air between the fixed vanes of the distributor (12), so as to set up a fluid dam restricting the effective passage cross-section of the stream of gas between the vanes towards the rotor of the turbine. Application to regulating the boost pressure supplied by the turbo- compressor, especially when the combustion (heat) engine is at low load. <IMAGE>
