PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of metal by feed water and to prevent the clogging of a treatment tank contg. a suitable solid base material by providing a bypass flow passage and main flow passage respectively connecting the inflow port and outflow port in the upper part and the outlet in the lower part of the treatment tank. CONSTITUTION:The solid basic material 1 consisting of >=1 kinds of Mg or the alloy thereof, Na2SiO3 and K2SiO3 is housed into the treatment tank 2. The inflow port 3 and outflow port 4 for the feed water and the bypass flow passage 8 are provided in the upper part of the tank 2. The main flow passage 6 connecting the outlet 5 in the lower part of the tank 2 and the above-mentioned outflow port 4 is further provided. Nets 14a, 14b, 14c made of a stainless steel are respectively disposed to the above-mentioned inflow port 3, main flow passage 6 and bypass flow passage 8 to prevent the outflow of the material 1. A drain plug 29 is preferably provided in the bottom of the tank 2 to prevent freezing in winter or cold seasons. The feed water for a hot water device is introduced through the inflow port 3 into the tank 2 and while part thereof is passed to the passage 8, the greater part is allowed to contact the material 1 and is thereby neutralized. The neutralized water is then joined in the outflow port 4 through the passage 6. |
