PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of valve characteristics in a long period of use without applying a preset pressure onto a valve body by installing a ring spring for applying a preset pressure onto a steering wheel between an input shaft and a pinion shaft. CONSTITUTION:A pair of slit grooves 6a are formed in the radial direction on the pinion shaft 3 side edge part of an input shaft 6. A semicircular ring-spring 10 is fitted so as to surround the half of the outer periphery of a torsion bar 7 and pass through a pair of slit grooves 6a. The free edge of the ring spring 10 is positioned on the outer periphery of the pinion shaft 3, and the concaved part 10a formed at the free edge is attached onto the outer surface of the eccentric part 11a of a preset pin 11 screwed onto the outer surface of the pinion shaft 3. Therefore, the preset force due to the ring spring 10 does not act onto a valve body 2, so the valve characteristics are not affected at all even after a long period of use. |
