PURPOSE:To lead out signal charges easily by arranging a charge transfer device on alternate side of a photoelectric converting element array at every specific number of photoelectric converting elements, and providing every charge transfer device with an output circuit. CONSTITUTION:A charge transfer device 22 having the same transfer stage pitch as the array pitch of photoelectric converting elements 21a-21e is arranged on one side of the photoelectric converting element array adhacently, and a charge transfer device 23 is provided on the other side of an array of photoelectric converting elements 21f-21j adjacently. Similarly, a charge transfer device 24 is provided on one side corresponding to photoelectric converting elements 21k- 21o, and a charge transfer device 25 is arranged on the other side corresponding to photoelectric converting elements 21p-21t respectively. The solid-state image pickup device of this constitution moves signal charges by a specific number of successive photoelectric converting elements to the charge transfer devices 22, 23, 24, and 25 provided correspondingly and they are transferred respectively and outputted from output circuits 26, 27, 28, and 29 successively. |
