PURPOSE:To enable a specific writer to read characters with high accuracy without increasing the scale of a dictionary memory, by providing an individual rank memory for the specific writer and a reference rank memory for many other unspecified writers. CONSTITUTION:A reference rank memory 30 stores the rank value set for many unspecified writers; while individual rank memories 31 and 32 store the rank value set for a registered specific writer. An individual code is supplied before characters are read. Thus a deciding part 10 refers with switch to the memories 30-32 respectively to select characters by a rank memory selecting circuit 70 and based on the individual code. In such a way, a specific writer can read characters with high accuracy without increasing the scale of a dictionary memory. |
