PURPOSE:To enhance the operational property of the captioned device during charge, by providing a liquid leakage-proof closed battery with a voltage-controlling device for preventing its overcharge in a monoblock, and enabling said controlling device to be used for both an on-vehicle generator and an external charger. CONSTITUTION:A voltage-controlling device 8 is incorporated in a monoblock into the corner of a liquid leakage-proof maintenance-free type closed battery 10. Also, the voltage-controlling device 8 is formed by including a self-discharge preventing circuit 6 which prevents self-discharge during non-charging phase, a controlling circuit 7 which detects the battery voltage and controls its charge- commencement and charge-stop, and an SCR; while, terminals 1, 3 connected to the external charger 25 and terminals 1, 2 connected to the on-vehicle generator 26 are installed. Consequently, by selecting terminals 1-3, one voltage-controlling device 8 can be used for both charging by means of the on-vehicle 26 and charging by means of the external charger 25, thus the operational property and the handling property can be enhanced. |
