PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material wide in exposure latitude, and superior in gradation by forming a silver halide emulsion layer contg. monodispersed silver halide grains having a specified silver iodide content on a support. CONSTITUTION:In a silver halide photosensitive material having a silver halide emulsion layer contg. at least two kinds of monodispersed silver halide grains different in average grain diameter formed on a support, a content of silver iodide in each monodispersed silver halide contained in the silver halide emulsion layer is controlled so that grains having the max. average grain diameter have the min. content, and the content increases successively by 0.3mol% each time when the average grain diameter lessens by 0.1mum. It is desirable that each of said silver halide grains is a so-called core-shell type silver halide grain, and at that time, each silver halide grain is composed so as not to change the silver iodide content of the silver halides in the surface layer. |
