To increase the biological value of seeds, particularly for agricultural seeds, the seed is subjected before sowing to a high intensity polarizing electric field, and it is then allowed to rest for at least three days in electric insulation conditions to stabilize the induced dipoles. The device comprises, within a processing chamber (9) and a protection envelope (7) an upper capacitor plate and a lower capacitor plate associated with a high voltage unit (13). The lower plate is at earth potential. The upper plate is comprised of at least two band capacitors (11) which are aligned in the conveying direction of the seed to be treated at a small distance apart from each other. The treatment chamber (9) is further provided with a conveying table of which the inclination angle ( alpha ) is adjustable and has an adjustable vibrator (10). The installation is arranged as a trailer and is provided with wheels (2) and with a frame (3). |
