The present invention relates to a novel hollow spreader (spacer) 1 intended to ensure the separation of the faces of forms used for the construction of concrete structures. It is characterised in that it has an internal roughness 2 permitting good adhesion of the filling mortar. This roughness is obtained by three principal procedures: internal wire-brushing, use of gap-graded mortar and internal covering with a granular mortar. Moreover, it is characterised in that it has an outer surface which adheres suitably with the concrete in the form and it can therefore be left in place. <IMAGE>
