PURPOSE:To evaluate the switch operation of an actual circuit faithfully by cutting off a specified current and impressing a voltage equivalent to an overvoltage appearing in reignition after a time corresponding to a reignition time an inspecting the occurrence of the reignition. CONSTITUTION:After the specified current is fed, a controller 21 generates a disconnection command for a switch 4 to be tested and an auxiliary switch 18. The controller 21 drives a discharging gap 20 a specific time after the current is cut off and an overvoltage generated by one-phase reignition is impressed from a surge generator power source 19 to the switch 4. In this case, the time corresponds to the time from the interruption of the current to the reigntion.
