<p>A thyristor module combined as a single component comprises one or more turn-off thyristors (10) and one or more flywheel diodes (20) which are connected in antiparallel with the thyristors. A turn-off thyristor and a flywheel diode are mounted on a common electrode plate (33) which is mounted on an insulating substrate (35). The individual elements are interconnected by an internal wiring system (30) and have external leads (38, 39, 40) which are mounted on the insulating substrate. The module can be switched on and off by applying a voltage between anode and cathode and a gate voltage between gate and cathode via the external leads. If a turn-over voltage is applied to the turn-off thyristor, the flywheel diode becomes conducting. Since the module has an internal wiring system, the inductance of the wiring system is extremely low. <IMAGE></p> |
