The invention relates to a method and a device which can be used in particular for regulating an industrial drying process by reference to the moisture content of the emerging carried-off gas, the automatic maintenance of reliable control signals being ensured in spite of a power drop of the measuring device as a result of contamination by ensuring a systematic recalibration of the moisture sensor at defined time intervals.
