A tilting mirror has a mirror body which is mounted so as to be tiltable in two opposite tilting directions and has a remote-control tilting mechanism, the mirror body being prestressed into a tilting direction by a force in any tilting position, and the tilting mechanism comprising a cable or chain pull which is connected to the mirror body and acts in the opposite tilting direction (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
