PURPOSE:To make the response of a back-fire sensor quick at the time when back-fire is caused in an oil burning apparatus and to make its operation reliable, by disposing a back-fire sensor at a position where the back-fire sensor faces a back-fire port. CONSTITUTION:When abnormal combustion is caused, for instance, due to closing of an outlet port 26, back-fire combustion is caused by back flow of combustion gas, and back-fire combustion gas is ejected concentratedly from a back- fire port 14 formed in an insulator 15 for an ignition heater 8 attached to the wall rising from an igniting section 12 of a wick outer sleeve 10 via holes 18, 19 formed in an inner and an outer combustion sleeves 16, 17 and holes 13 formed in the wall rising from the igniting section 12. Here, since the temperature of a back-fire sensor 30 disposed at a position facing the back-fire port 14 is raised directly the combustion gas ejected from the back-fire port 14, back- fire can be detected by the back-fire sensor 30 with ease, promptly and in reliable manner. When back-fire is caused, combustion is stopped by stopping current supply to the entire circuit. |
