PURPOSE:To provide an electrostatic recording head enabling recording with a high resolving degree and capable of planning the shape and the arrangement of a recording electrode in various forms, constituted by forming a plane recording electrode and plane voltage control electrodes opposed left and right from the center of said recording electrode in a laminar state through an insulating film. CONSTITUTION:A conductive film is formed on the flat surface of an insulating substrate 9 by sputtering or vapor deposition and photoresist is subsequently applied to said conductive film to perform a photolithographic process comprising exposure, development and etching to form a recording electrode 1. A dielectric material is used to further form an insulating layer 7 according to the similar manufacturing process. The insulating layer 7 is opened at the leader part 10 of the recording electrode and the leader part 11 of a control electrode 2 for connection to the outside. On the upper part of the insulating layer 7, a conductive film is formed by using a conductive material while the control electrodes 2 are formed to both sides of the recording electrode 1 by the similar photolithographic process. An insulating anti-wear layer 8 is formed on the upper part of the control electrode 2 from the dielectric material. An electrostatic latent image is obtained on a recording medium by thus fabricated plane electrostatic recording head and, by this method, the simplification of manufacturing and the enhancement of yield are attained. |
