In a light box with a circumferential, opaque frame which is closed in the region of the edges by translucent plates and in which light sources are situated, profiles are used for the frame without additional steel frame constructions. The profiles have on the inside mounting grooves, into which mounting elements are inserted, which are connected by connecting elements. All these parts can be manufactured very simply from semi-finished aluminium products, so that the light box is inexpensive and simply adaptable in terms of size. <IMAGE>
