The invention relates to a device for adjusting the spacing between a millstone, which is fixed in a housing of a mill, in particular a cereal mill, and a rotatable millstone, which is seated on a drive shaft, with the assistance of a nut and a threaded spindle, the nut being supported on the housing in the region of the outlet of the grinding gear. In order that the adjustment of the spacing can also be undertaken during operation, provision is made for the nut to be fixed non-rotatably on the housing and for the threaded spindle, which is separate from the drive shaft, to be able to be rotated by means of an adjusting ring which is axially displaceable on the threaded spindle, but can rotate the latter by means of a cross-pin. The thread connection is self-locking.
