<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the landing safety of an aeroplane, by simply obtaining a glide slope signal generating means by azimuth information and distance information with respect to a predetermined beacon without using complicated ground equipment. CONSTITUTION:An aeroplane during flight calculates a landing place and the horizontal distance DH to a runway coming-in end A by DME. The inclination theta of a glide slope is imparted and a position (an altitude HT) where the aeroplane 2 must be landed to the runway 1 is imaginarily calculated by a formula. The calculation is enabled by the calculator in the aeroplane. It can be judged whether the altitude of the present aeroplane is high, proper or low with respect to the position to be landed and the aeroplane 2 can be safely landed while holding the altitude to be landed with respect to the runway and correcting the direction thereof by VOR.</p> |
