PURPOSE:To obtain a decompressing mechanism of simple structure in an engine in which a cylinder head is provided with both a cam shaft and an intake-exhaust-valve and the valve is driven through a cup-shaped lifter, by allowing the lifter to be pressed by a chamfered shaft that meees with the cam shaft at right angles. CONSTITUTION:An intake-exhaust valve 3 is driven by a cam shaft 7 through a cup-shaped lifter 8. A chamfered shaft 12 is inserted, getting through the side wall of a cylinder head, in the direction perpendicular to the cam shaft. And the tip part of said shaft where a flat shape is formed touches the top surface of the lifter 8. Rotation of the chamfered shaft 12 presses the lifter 8, thereby performing decompression at the time of engine start. With this contrivance, the chamfered shaft can be of simple construction without being disturbed by cam shaft bearings of oil seals. |
