An attachment device for the pivotable attachment of an object, in particular a handle, to a wall or the like, having a joint which has an attachment part which is to be attached to the wall and a pivoting part which is to be attached to the object, the pivoting part, in the mounted state of the object, being pivotable to-and-fro between an in-use position, arranged essentially at right angles to the wall, and a not-in-use position, arranged essentially parallel to the wall, and having a fall brake, which makes it difficult for the object to fall inadvertently from the not-in-use position into the in-use position and consists of at least one spring which is integrated into the joint, is tensioned when the object is pivoted down into the in-use position and is relieved of tension when the object is pivoted up into the not-in-use position (Fig. 17). <IMAGE>
