Devices for opening and closing the flaps on self-discharge wagons are actuated or influenced by the flap closure and holding shaft of the flaps or of the locking lever in the open position. To unlock and lock the mutually opposite flaps 6, 8, there are provided a pilot machine 3 installed fixedly at the edge 15 of the bunker and a follower 4, machine and follower both possessing two rams 11, 14 which can be extended parallel to one another (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
