In a roof edge covering (1), the covering profile (4) has, on the inner side in the upper region, a U-shaped receiving pocket (12) provided with ribbing (16), into which pocket a clamping piece (21) designed in the form of a C-shaped strap can engage with one leg (22). The other leg (23) of the clamping piece (21) bears a resilient sealing strip (30) acting on the roof skin (6), so that the latter can be clamped by the covering profile (4). This produces reliable retention of the roof skin (6) without damaging it, and it is also possible to mount the clamping piece (21) without any great effort. <IMAGE>
