Workhead for polishing and for grinding with a multiplicity of disc-shaped tools (115) which have elements (117) provided with diamonds. The tools are mounted on the head (85-87) in such a way that they rotate about axes which are arranged parallel to and offset from the axis of rotation of the head. Furthermore, passages (103, 105, 107) for water are arranged in the head. The passages (103, 105, 107) run from an axial feed (111) to connection pieces provided at the head side of each tool.
