The invention relates to a method and a device for contactless measurement of mechanical vibrations of solid bodies, a directional beam being guided onto a surface element of the body, and a part of the reflected light being detected, and the temporal variation in the reflected light effected due to the change in distance and the Doppler effect being measured.
