PURPOSE:The titled compound capable of forming the titled friction material which judders little when used in brakes and has good friction resistance, comprising a metallic fiber, a binder, and a filler, wherein the binder comprises one in the powder form and one in the form of a solution in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:In a compound for a semimetallic friction material comprising a steel fiber or a like metallic fiber, a binder comprising a phenolic resin, rubber or the like, and a filler such as graphite or BaSO4; said binder comprises a combination of one in the powder form and one in the form of a solution in a solvent. The use of this combination makes it possible to obtain a compound which can form a semimetallic friction material which judders little and shows improved friction performance. |
