PURPOSE:To avoid damaging a strip to be taken up on a mandrel by providing a revolution detector for pinch rolls, an acceleration detector for unit rolls, a temp. detector, etc., and knowing the tip end position of a strip. CONSTITUTION:A titled device consists of pinch rolls 2, a mandrel 1, plural unit rolls 5, 5a, 5b, and a control mechanism provided thereto. A revolution detector 18 is provided to the roll 2 and an acceleration detector 21 to the roll 5. A temp. detector 20 is provided in addition to said detectors, and the passage of the tip end of the strip 4 through the roll 5 is detected An arithmetic device 16 is further provided to calculate the tip end position of the strip 4 with the signals from the detectors 18, 21, 20 and the preset slip and slack of the strip 4 and to transmit the result thereof the above-described control mechanism. The roll 5 is advanced to press or detach the strip 4 by the above-mentioned mechanism. |
