PURPOSE:To enable a grindstone to be dressed in a different form from the template by numerically controlling the W axis in the traversing direction and the Y axis in the cutting direction. CONSTITUTION:The feed of the grinding surface of a grindstone 1 for the tapered or crowning part, etc. of a workpiece is carried out with the feeler 30 of a copying ram 27 brought in contact with a template 29 and made to copy it through a driving means (a hydraulic cylinder 31) due to a fluid pressure or electricity. The feed to traverse a copying saddle 18 in the direction of the generating line of the grindstone 1 is carried out with both a feed motor 21 and the number of revolution of a feed screw 17 controlled through NC driven control means. Furthermore, when dressing the cut or return at the stepped or straight part of the grindstone 1 or when dressing the grindstone 1 in a form other than the form of the template 29, the feed motor 5 is controlled, the number of revolution of the feed screw is controlled, and the cut and return of the cross slide 2 of a diamond tool 28 are controlled, by the NC driven control means. |
