PURPOSE:To change accurately the width of a slab during continuous casting by integrating the pulse signals transmitted from command pulse transmitters with counters, comparing the same with the target set pulse values which are beforehand set and controlling the command pulse transmitters. CONSTITUTION:Changing of the width of a slab during continuous casting by moving the short side pieces 2a of a casting mold via stepping cylinders 3a, 3a' is accomplished by applying the command signal from a control device 6 for commanding calculation, via counters 50, 50', to command pulse transmitters 4, 4,' and applying the transmission pulse signals from the transmitters 4, 4' to stepping cylinders 3a, 3a' in accordance with the command signal to move the piece 2a. Said signals are fed back to the counters 50, 50' and are integrated by said counters. The counters 50, 50' compare the integrated values of said signals with the target set pulse values which are beforehand set and inputted therein by the device 6. The counters stop outputting of the signals from the transmitters 4, 4' at the point of the time when both values coincide. |
