PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity of preparation of several tools of one and the same kind within a magnazine in a tool changing device in a machining center, by providing a device for coating a hard metal alloy, etc. to the cutter section of a tool which has been worn, so that a single tool may be remolded and reused. CONSTITUTION:A tool having abrasion detected by a tool abrasion detecting device, is taken out by a robot hand 4 having a grip section 4b, after being once attached to a magazine 1, and is transferred to a tool holding device 3 which has a chuck 3a for strongly holding the tool and is rotatable over 360 deg. as well as vertically movable. A device 5 for coating, for example, a hard metal alloy, a ceramic material or the like to the tool, is mounted on a cross-table 7 so as to be movable in an X-Y plane and as well rotatable about a rotary shaft 5c, and has a discharge electrode 5a having its front end which is positioned in a desired position on the cutter section 2d' of the tool, adjacently and oppositely to the cutter section 2d'. |
