摘要 PURPOSE:To release a lock-up clutch at the time of slipping of wheels and prevent an engine from being stopped, by releasing lock-up of a torque converter by a slip detection signal indicating the slipping of the wheels. CONSTITUTION:A controller for a lock-up clutch device 13 is comprised of a signaling means 35 which indicates a locked-up condition of the device 13, an electronic controlling unit 20 which detects the slipping of the wheels 14 through sensors 15a-15b detecting rotating speeds of a plurality of wheels and preferentially releases the clutch device 13, and a converting means 40 for releasing the lock-up. In the locked-up condition, when the wheel 14 slips and the difference between rotating speeds of the wheels comes out of a predetermined range, the controlling unit 20 preferentially cut off an exciting current for a solenoid valve 45, whereby the direction of feeding a working fluid to the torque converter 10 is reversed, and the clutch device 13 is released. Accordingly, even when getting out of a muddy ground or the like by swinging the vehicle body forwards and backwards, the engine is prevented from being stopped.
