The percussion fuse of a grenade comprises two percussion fuse portions (10,13) which are disposed at the opposite ends of a sleeve (9). The rearward percussion fuse portion (13) is locked by a slide member (6) which is moved forward upon firing of the grenade and which thus releases the percussion fuse portion (13). During flight, the released percussion fuse portion (13) moves forwardly by virtue of its inertia, as the grenade is retarded by the external air resistance. In order to avoid premature detonation at least one guide track means (14) is provided in the sleeve (9) and is formed by a groove which includes at least one chicane means (15) and which extends parallel to the axis of the grenade, in a foremost short portion (35). A guide pin (16) of the displaceable percussion fuse portion (13) engages into the guide track means (14). In the event of premature termination of the trajectory of the grenade, for example because of an obstacle close to the firing position, the chicane means (15) blocks the forward movement of the percussion fuse portion (13) so that no detonation occurs. It is only when the percussion fuse portion (13) passes into the short axis-parallel portion (35) that actuation of the fixed percussion fuse portion (10) can take place, upon impact. The grenade may be a fragmentation grenade, a tear gas or an incendiary grenade. <IMAGE> |
