1,134,025. Filter press plate. SOC. ANON. DES FONDERIES ET ATELIERS L. CHOQUENET. 8 Nov., 1966 [16 Nov., 1965], No. 49905/66. Heading BlD. [Also in Division E2] A filter-press plate comprises filter cloth sections 6, 7 clamped thereto by peripheral frames 13, 14, of which frame 13 carries a sealing ring 20 to engage the flat face of frame 14 of an adjacent plate. Frames 13, 14 may be screwed directly to the plate, and the screws may extend from the sealing ring groove (Fig. 1, not shown). Alternatively frames extend beyond the plate and are bolted together (Figs. 3, 4 not shown). In Figs. 1 . . 4, plates have profiled peripheries presenting grooves 4 engaged by beads 16 of the frames, which carry elastic coverings 17. In Fig. 5, not shown, similar profiles are formed on a flat plate by frames comprising separate inner and outer members between which cloths pass. Cloths 6, 7 may be separate or one, formed as pocket or folded, and are tightened by laces before clamping. When fitting to polygonal plates, cloths are trimmed off at corners beyondgrooves 4. The tensioning of cloths causes them to move away from draining surfaces of plate when plates separate, aiding cake removal. |
