<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a lock device from breakage caused by unreasonable turning a steering wheel prohibit the operation of the steering wheel to and prevent theft by providing a rack urged by a pin and a spring on a steering shaft. CONSTITUTION:A pin 13 is provided on the steering wheel side shaft 1 of a steering lock device having a locking rod 8 inserted into a slot 14, and a pipe 12 is formed with a rack 12'. The pipe 12 is urged by a spring 11 so that the pin 13 engages the rack 12' to permit the operation of the steering wheel when the steering lock device is not locked. On the other hand. when said device is locked, it is not broken even by unreasonable turning of the steering wheel with a bar or the like since the pin 13 slides over the rack 12', and theft is prevented since the steering wheel cannot be operated.</p> |
