PURPOSE:To obtain a photographic material capable of automatically and stably reproducing a desirable color by incorporating a compound for forming a cyan image as the reverse function of the exposure of a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer in this layer. CONSTITUTION:The green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains the compound for forming a cyan image as the function of the exposure of this emulsion layer, that is, said compound forms the cyan color image in the unexposed area of the green-sensitive emulsion layer, but no cyan color image in the exposed area of said layer. As the preferable compound, the cyan dye or its precursor to be allowed to erase the cyan color by the coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent is enumerated, and it is represented by the formula: A-Link-B in which A is an organic residue to be allowed to release the moiety of Link-B in accordance with the amount of the oxidation product of the color developing agent by the reaction with said product, and Link is a group for linking A and B, and B is an organic group. |
