PURPOSE:To make it possible to discriminates the face and back sides of a stencil paper at a stage before fitting the stencil paper to a form cylinder, by providing at least two parts to be detected for detecting the face and back sides of the stencil paper at positions differently spaced from the downstream-side end edge of the stencil paper. CONSTITUTION:At both side end parts of an end part of a stencil paper 1 on the downstream side with respect to the moving direction thereof at the time of supplying a stencil, a pair of notches 4, 5 are provided as parts to be detected for detecting the face and back sides of the stencil paper 1. At parts of a main body of a device which correspond to the notches 4, 5 two pairs of light transmission type photocouplers 6, 7 are provided, so that a signal '1' outputted when the light from a first photocoupler 6 provided on the left side is shielded can be ANDed with an output signal from a second photocoupler 7. When the stencil paper 1 is supplied in the state of being turned face side back as compared with a desired state, the output signal from the second photocoupler 7 at the moment the output signal from the first photocoupler becomes '1' is still '0', so that the AND of the two signals is '0', and it is judged that the stencil paper 1 is fed in the state of being turned face side back being opposite to the desired state. |
