PURPOSE:To enable desired printing pattern to be prepared between lines by generating a dot pattern between lines to be printed according to information on paper feed amount to be given to a platen when the paper feed amount to the platen is not constant. CONSTITUTION:In a unit having generally a variable line feed width that is, a variable paper feed value realized by a platen, control signals A1, A2, A3 relative to modes such as paper feed amount data B, data C on paper feed amount to a platen control and lateral/vertical writing, underline/ruled line are transmitted to the platen control 10 by CPU 1. Consequently a line pattern generator 13 generates line data such as underlines and ruled lines as a line pattern to be printed between character lines. A selector 14 selectively passes line data to be given by the line pattern generator 13 or line data to be transmitted by CPU 1 in accordance with a selection control signal from CPU 1, giving such data to a printing head 15. Thus a printing pin corresponding to the printing head 15 is assisted to print dots on recording paper. |
