PURPOSE:To reduce greatly the transmission time for a large quantity of a short original like a slip, etc., by inserting a page identification signal between picture information stored in the picture signal in order to eliminate the hand shake between pages. CONSTITUTION:An inter-page identification signal 5 is obtained by transmitting twice continuously a main scanning line termination code 6 at the transmission side. At the reception side the signal 6 is monitored and regards the code 6 as a normal code when the code is received singularly. Then the code 6 is regarded as a signal 5 when the code is received twice continuously. In the case of the signal 5, the following picture signal is regarded as the picture information 7 of the next page to continue a receiving action. This can reduce greatly the facsimile transmission time. |
