PURPOSE:To manufacture a compact gas laser device eliminating a trigger discharge by a method wherein a partial discharge is started between multiple electrodes provided in a discharge tube to carry out a main discharge between anode and cathode by expanding the partial discharge. CONSTITUTION:With a discharge starting switch 1 closed, an anode 4a of a discharge tube 4 is impressed with high voltage generated by a high voltage control circuit 2 and a high voltage generating circuit 3 to start the secondary discharge between the anode 4a and an auxiliary electrode 4t-1 as well as the partial discharge which is current limited between the anode 4a and another auxiliary electrode 4t-2 by a current limiting resistor 5-2. Besides the partial discharge starts the discharge between the electrode 4t-2 and a cathode 4c. Resultantly the current between the anode 4a and the cathode 4c may be limited by another current limiting resistor 6 to carry out a main discharge. |
