MANUFACTURE OF RECORD DISC STYLUS

PURPOSE:To simplify the manufacturing process and constitution by providing a stepwise hole having different hole diameters to the tip of a metallic rod and pressing a diamond into the hole of the smallest diameter and soldering it with a solder. CONSTITUTION:For example, the stepwise hole having different diameters is provided to the tip of the metallic rod 10 and the diamond 11 having about 300mu average grain diameter is pressed into the hole part of the smallest diameter by a pressing rod 12. The Ag-Cu solder material 13 processed into 0.45mm. diameter and 1mm. length is put into the hole part of the larger diameter at the tip of the metallic rod 10 and the rod is headed for 5min at 800 deg.C in a vacuum heating furnace or an electric furnace with hydrogen atmosphere. The solder material 13 heated and molten is impregnated in the gap between the metallic rod 10 and the diamond 11 and solidified, and the diamond 11 is fixed to the metallic rod 10. Then, this metallic rod 10 is processed mechanically into an objective shape. Thus, the manufacture process and the constitution are simplified.
