PURPOSE:To avoid the lowering of picture reproducivility to attain pictures which have a uniform quality with respect to the elapse of time, by heating a panel, which is irradiated with a radiation picture, before excitation of accelerated phosphorescence in the radiation picture converting method using an accelerated phosphor. CONSTITUTION:When an object 12 is arranged between a radiation generating device 11 and a panel 13 and is irradiated with radiation, radiation is transmitted through in accordance with the change of the radiation transmittivity of each part of the object 12, and its transmission image is made incident to the panel 13. This incident transmission image is absorbed by a phosphor layer of the panel 13. The panel 13 is heated uniformly. Thus, the lowering of picture reproducibility is avoided to attain pictures which have a uniform quality with respect to the elapse of time. |
