PURPOSE:To obtain a safe and inexpensive latent heat accumulating apparatus, by preventing outflow of a heat accumulating medium into a heating medium due to corrosion of containers of heat accumulating elements by employing such an arrangement that the outer wall surface of a heat accumulating tank and the containers of heat accumulating elements having a latent heat accumulating medium sealed therein are partially held in thermal contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:Holes 8 are formed in the outer wall surface Fe of a heat acculating tank 1 to extend through the inside the tank, and containers 4 for heat accumulating elements 100 having a latent heat accumulating medium 3 such as sodium acetate (CH3 COONa.3H2O) sealed therein leaving the space for absorbing the volume expansion caused by melting of sodium acetate are inserted into the holes 8. Since, with such an arrangement, exchanging of heat between the heat accumulating medium 3 and water 7 is effected by the intermediary of the containers 4 and the tank 1, mixing of the heat accumulating medium 3 into water 7 can be prevented. If aluminum is selected as the material for the containers 4 of the heat accumulating elements 100, there is aroused such a problem that corrosion is caused when they are immersed in water. However, this problem is solved by selecting proper materials for each part, so that it is enabled to provide an inexpensive heat accumulating tank used for various purposes. |
