PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of tar produced on an evaporating surface and to maintain stable combustion for a long period of time, by a method wherein the evaporating surface is formed by a metal sprayed layer, formed on a metal base material, a heat resistant carrier layer, having a wide ratio area, formed on the metal sprayed layer, and a platinum group catalyst carried on the carrier layer, and the temperature of the evaporating surface is increased to a point higher than that of the film boiling range of kerosene. CONSTITUTION:An evaporating surface 13 is formed by a metal sprayed layer 16 formed on the surface of a base material 8' of an evaporating tube, a heat resistant carrier layer 17, having a wide ratio surface, formed on the metal sprayed layer 16, and a platinum group catalyst 18 carried on the carrier layer 17. By heating the tip part of an evaporating tube 8 by means of a combustion heat, the temperature of the evaporating surface 13 is increased to a point higher than the temperature of the film boiling range of kerosene. The metal sprayed layer is formed by a metal or ceramic. A material, having an excellent heat conductivity, such as aluminium or an aluminium alloy, is most suitable for the metal, and the surface coarseness of the metalized layer is most preferably 5-50mum of central line average coarseness Ra. A metallic oxide, carbide, and nitride are used as ceramic. The carrier layer is of a heat resistant inorganic material, having a wide ratio surface area, which is alumina, silica, or zirconia, or composite combustion of them. |
