PURPOSE:To obtain a PROM erasing device that can save labor by irradiating ultraviolet rays through a source of short wavelength energy rays and the opening of a case that supports an ultraviolet ray lamp. CONSTITUTION:A case 3 has an opening through which an ultraviolet lamp 1 and an ultraviolet ray shielding plate 11 can be observed from outside. When a PROM10 is attached to an IC socket, and an operation switch 9 is turned on, division is performed in erasing checking process, and the ultraviolet lamp is made on and shifted to erasing process only when erasing is not made. As ultraviolet rays are irradiated while making erasing check, writing process can be started at the moment when erasing is completed. Processes of PROM using cycle can be reduced by three processes and time required for erasing can be shortened to about 1-10min. It is also possible to unify the power source and case as a common part. The device can be made small in size and light in weight, and time and labor can be saved. |
