PURPOSE:To prevent an ink from wastefully flying out from a head nozzle and air from being sucked into the nozzle, by a method wherein pressure variations are absorbed by the combination of a buffer tank and a slender pipe, and resistance is given to a rapid flow of an ink. CONSTITUTION:When intermittent feeding is started or stopped, an inertial force due to acceleration is exerted on an ink 3 contained in the head 5 or a pipe 11. By the inertial force, positive and negative pressure variations are induced in the ink 3 contained in the pipe 11 and the head 5. On the other hand, the buffer tank 15 is provided at an intermediate part of the pipe 11, and pressure variations are absorbed by flexure of an elastic member 17 in the tank 15. In addition, the ink 3 tending to move in the pipe 11 under inertia receives a large flow resistance in a small-diameter elongate pipe 16 since the movement due to inertia is more rapid than normal feed of the ink for printing, and the movement of the ink 3 is hindered. |
