<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has a magnetic layer having a good electromagnetic conversion chracteristic and excellent durability and reduces less the abrasion loss of a head by applying a magnetic coating contg. a specific compsn. and pulverized ferromagnetic powder on a substrate having <=0.035mu average centerline roughness (Ra) then irradiating an electron ray thereto. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic coating contg. a compsn. consisting of a polymer of >=1 kind among a nitrocellulose resin, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate resin, and vinyl chloride-vinyl propionate resin, an urethane resin and >=1 kinds compounds having >=2 acrylate or methacrylate groups in a molecule and pulverized ferromagnetic powder is used. The magnetic coating using such polymer urethane resin and the comp. polymerizable with an electron ray as a binder is coated on a substrate having <=0.035mu centerline roughness (Ra) and an electron ray is irradiated thereto, whereby a magnetic recording medium having excellent durability, runnability, electromagnetic conversion characteristic and resistance to head abrasion by the synergistic effect thereof is formed. The preferred range of the compsn. ratio between the above-mentioned polymer and the urethane resin is 20-90pts.wt./80-10pts.wt.</p> |
