The invention relates to a self-propelled lawnmower. The self-propelled lawnmower consists of a chassis 1 with wheels 2, 3, 4, 5; arranged on these are an engine unit 8 and a driver's position 9, in addition to grass-cutting means 11 carried by the chassis 1. According to the invention the chassis 1 consists of a front sub-frame 12 and a rear sub-frame 13 each having wheels and articulated together about a vertical axis 16, and hydraulic jacks 17 and 22 are arranged between the two sub-frames 12 and 13 as a means of varying the relative orientation of the two sub-frames 12 and 13 about the axis 16 so as to provide a maximum inclination of between 30 and 45 degrees. Furthermore the front wheels 2 and 3 are powered and driven directly by hydraulic motors 32 and 33 to suppress the disadvantages of mechanical transmissions. The invention will be of application as a large-capacity self-propelled lawnmower. <IMAGE>
